Are antioxidants good for skin?

All dermatologists agree antioxidants are good for skin because they help fight free radicals which can prematurely age your skin. There are many sources of free radicals; UV from the sun, air pollution, smoking, alcohol, and you know they are bad for your skin. Get too many free radicals and the result is destructive oxidative stress.

For an antioxidant cream to have a maximal beneficial effect and reduce free radicals in your skin, it should penetrate into the deeper layers because this is where new skin cells are made. Sadly research published in 2012 showed that creams do not carry antioxidants much further into the skin beyond the surface.

So to have any chance of tackling harmful free radicals antioxidants need to able to get inside your body. So taking a powerful antioxidant like C60 in a VITA60 oil ensures it can act against free radicals and help skin reclaim its natural glow.

C60 is the most powerful antioxidant,172 times more powerful than vitamin C.

We received this from a 51 year old lady who had been using C60 in Olive Oil for about 6 weeks.

Hi Steve,

I’d thought I’d let you know that my skin hasn’t looked this good in years. I have had people, who I haven’t seen for a while ask, “what’s with your complexion”. They have described it as glowing and one person said “it looked like I had an inner radiance”.

I’ve spent £10,000’s over the years on face creams and lotions, serums and toners, and never has anyone made those kind of comments. So thank you. You’ve made this lady very happy. I’ll just have to get used to this sort of compliment.

Here are the 5 Main Benefits of Antioxidants for Your Skin

1. Antioxidants help correct signs of age

Damage from oxidative stress can break down collagen, leading to inflammation, thus slowing your skin’s natural repair process. This results in those fine lines, wrinkles and loose skin as well as giving rise to acne breakouts and a blotchy skin tone. C60 acts as a ‘free radical sponge‘; mopping them up, thereby helping prevent and correct the visible and invisible signs giving your skin a more youthful glow and an inner radiance.

2. Antioxidants help brighten skin tone

Frequent exposure to the sun and free radicals can trigger changes in the level of melanin production in your skin, causing dark spots and an uneven skin tone. As a powerful antioxidant, C60 can reduce photodamage and help prevent abnormal skin pigmentation. C60 inhibits the enzyme tyrosinase, important in the formation of melanin.

3. Antioxidants help prevent sunburn

There are many reports from C60 users of its ability to both stop sunburn and reduce the unpleasant effects of sunburn. This is hardly surprising; C60 is the most powerful antioxidant known and so is a potent anti-inflammatory. C60, therefore, offers enhanced protection against sun damage and photoaging.

4. Antioxidant help skin repair itself

Inflamed skin repairs more slowly and by reducing inflammation, antioxidants allow the skin to repair itself and correct visible damage. According to research at the Linus Pauling Institute at Oregon State University antioxidants increase collagen protein synthesis needed for repair of skin damage.

5. Antioxidants may help prevent skin cancer

C60 has been shown to have anticancer effects and therefore may help prevent skin cancer.
