Quality of C60
FAQ's
We use the highest quality of C60 available, 99.99% pure, manufactured by SolarisChem one of North America’s premier C60 laboratories. It contains no detectable solvents and C70 at levels of less than 0.01%.
Quality of C60
The lower the percentage value (99.95%, 99.9%, 99.5%) the more other fullerenes are present, these can include C70, C72, C74, C76….C90. Low quality C60 powder may have insoluble carbon compounds present which will not dissolve when mixed together with oil.
There should be no need to filter C60 in oil after the mixing process if you add for example 80mg to 100ml of olive oil. Any remaining solid after prolonged stirring is not C60 and indicates poor quality C60 powder has been used.
We use olive oil that comes from organically grown Koroneiki olives from the Chania region of northern Crete. The area has been globally recognised for the production of high quality olives and has been awarded EU Protected Geographical Indication (PGI) status.
This organic extra virgin olive oil comes from the first pressing within hours of harvesting without heat or chemicals. This maintains the flavour and high levels of natural antioxidants.
When you taste our olive oil you’ll know that trust was well placed. The oil is high in polyphenols, the key to a quality extra virgin olive oil, giving it a fresh olive flavour and the kick of spicy pepper.
To make the best C60 in olive oil you need three things; high quality organic extra virgin olive oil, pure 99.99% solvent free C60 and time.
To produce an 80mg/100ml solution of C60 in olive oil we take 99.99% solvent free C60 manufactured in Canada by SolarisChem. We use SolarisChem as a supplier because they have an international reputation for producing fullerenes.
The quality of the olive oil will change the experience you get from taking C60. That’s because olive oil contains a complex range of macromolecules which benefit from being organic, extra virgin and cold pressed. VITA60 use organic olive oil made from Koroneiki olives grown organically in the renowned Chania region of northern Crete.
To dissolve C60 in olive oil requires slow stirring in the dark and no fluctuations in temperature. To deliver that we use magnetic stirring in a sealed glass conical flask with a nitrogen atmosphere. This minimises oxidation and therefore delivers the very best quality of C60 in olive oil.
We know VITA60 olive oil contains 80mg of C60 in every 100ml because we add 0.8g of C60 to a litre of oil. We slow stir until the C60 is fully dissolved. This can take 14 days but if it needs longer we will leave it to stir until it’s ready.
